Food: Best Friend or Worst Enemy

I won't lie, I LOVE to eat.  I try to eat healthy but it only happens 20% of the time.  I have a very hard time giving up my junk food.  I wonder, could that be the reason I'm overweight?  Of course it is!  I just can't figure out how to get my brain to realize that junk food is junk and it is not good for me.  Junk food is my drug.  I have carrot, celery, apples, and salad in the refrigerator, but I never go for it.  I go for the chocolate, chips and salsa, goldfish, crackers, ect.  Too bad my brain doesn't have a reset button.

I really do need to get my act together so my children learn good eating habits and do not end up overweight later in life like their Mama.

  1. It's SO much easier said than done! (Giving up junk food, that is.) Even though I've just recently started eating more whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables, I still have to buy some 100 Calorie Oreos or yogurt pretzels to snack on. Even the sugar-free Jello puddings are good! Moderation is key. :] You don't have to completely cut all the good stuff out. You just have to know that you can't sit down and eat half a bag of Cheetos (speaking from experience - haha). Heck, I even had a piece of banana chocolate chip cake on Saturday night, and I'd still lost four pounds when I weighed myself Monday morning.

Sorry if I sound too preachy. Haha. Just trying to offer some words of encouragement! :]
